It's been 18 days and the wall of beautiful#nastywomen is growing. Every single day that I walk into my studio I am so happy and never want to leave.
Each woman brings so much to this project, which feels like it is the work I was meant to do, and many more have offered to allow me to paint them. I feel blessed beyond measure and will definitely continue to paint women past these 100 days. Onè woman whom I have admired for some time is Shantelle Bisson who I first saw on CBC Murdoch Mysteries and became enamoured of when I stumbled upon her blog through her husband Yannick Bisson . I love how they choose to raise their daughters and that the philosophy that Ron & I have on raising young women in this world is very similar to theirs. I am so grateful that she has agreed to let me include her in this project, this work of my heart. I have always felt a huge desire to lift women and I hope in this small way to honour the women that inspire me.

I love this series and I have been wondering how you choose the women you are painting. I also love the quotes. And now I must go check out Shantelle Bisson as we are big Murdock Mystery fans! 2/8/2018 07:15:47 am
Hi Janet...Thank you so much for your kind words. I had asked a few friends but then put out a request on instagram & facebook as I didn't want to include anyone without their consent. I printed images off of social media of 100 women who I was closely connected with and now randomly pick an image out of the pile each day. I think this way I paint who I'm supposed to that day. Within hours of posting the call online I received messages from 150 women which was incredible. And I've always been a quote collector as I am an avid reader so it seemed like a natural fit. 😊 Comments are closed.
