honouring the lives + stories of women

On New Year's Eve I love to look back at the year that has just passed in order to share all of the good things I've experienced.  It's only one of the reasons that I choose to create a journal to remind myself of all of the things that have happened and to be grateful for them.  Happy New Year!

And here's this year's gratitude list:
  • as always, I love creating a bowl for the Airdrie Food Bank's annual Empty Bowls fundraiser
  • two of my paintings were selected to grace the new transit shelters in my community
  • I spent time in the Rocky Mountains (my favorite place) with my eldest daugher when my husband and youngest were tranvelling through German
  • a local newspaper gifted me with the honour of receiving and award for 'The Best Professional Artist'
  • I completed The 100 Day Project: Nasty Women which was featured in magazines and newspapers and the exhibit opening was amazing
  • my painting 'The Dance' was featured on the cover of AirdrieLIFE magazine
  • I taught at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium again this year - I love being part of Jube School
  • I had the privilege of painting a bench as part of my community's Making Places initiative
  • I passed my psychology exam (yay!)
  • exhibited my work at the Vertigo Theatre and got to watch the Sherlock play (fantastic!) as well as Inglewood Fine Arts, Bluerock Gallery and Lineham House Galleries
  • I am now a juried member of the Alberta Society of Artists
