Adirondack #2

Adirondack #2 is finally finished!  I love that it's complimentary to Adirondack #1 but still different and it's interesting to me that the first was completed almost exactly a year ago.

I've been pretty excited of late...have tickets to see Stuart McLean's Vinyl Café Christmas live at the Jubliee Auditorium in December.  Vinyl Café is one of my favorite CBC Radio programs, it's always on in my studio on Saturday mornings and I end up laughing and crying over the antics of Dave, Morley & the kids (and their friends & neighbors, too!).

I've also shipped off new work to AyrSpace Gallery in Ontario and am happy to say that they have arrived safely.  I wish I could be there to see them in that beautiful space.

Here's to a lovely (but perhaps blustery - perfect for reading) weekend!

Love the look of your chair. The colours are outstanding.

Thank you very much Lora! I'm a little addicted to blue, any shade of it, so it tends to be quite prominent in much of my work.

your artwork is very inspiring and beautiful, especially the painted chair. What brand and type of paint do u use? I have a double rocking chair that I want to paint in a creative way. Its wood. Thanks.

Thank you Lissa...I use exterior latex primer, paint and varnish from Home Hardware (though you could pick it up at any hardware store). I make sure to sand the chair, coat it well with primer, and for paint I ask the store to mix pure colour for the primaries (blue, red and yellow) and use a small can of white so that I can mix whichever colour I want. Then, after it cures well for a few days I give the chair three coats of exterior latex varnish so that the chairs can remain outside all year round. Hope this helps!
