Feathers

I have always collected feathers, and was gifted a hawk feather a few years ago which is my pride and joy.  I've also had these longer canvases sitting in my studio and though I painted patterns onto them I was uncertain as to what I would paint until suddenly, as I was sitting in my studio and looking at the feathers I painted on the walls.

I find that 'aha!' moment to be absolutely invigorating.  And once it happens I can barely sleep for wanting to get to work.  But I know I need the rest and the time for the idea to percolate.

Adding hanging hardware will be a challenge as I like the notion of hanging the pieces vertically or horizontally, and with the feather facing any direction as they would be a lovely grouping.  Hmmmm....something else to ponder.

feathers are one of my favourite art themes (probably right behind trees) and yours are just perfect, I love your style!

It always amazes me when ideas for creativity seem to come from out of nowhere...something I love about creativity - how doing something creative begets another creative idea.

Really loving this series Veronica. The colors are incredibly vibrant and I think they would look incredible hung in multiples!

I was thinking the same Seth...I like how they look hanging in any direction. And thank you for your kind words!

Such a beautifully vibrant and invigorating series, Veronica! I know exactly what you mean about not being able to sleep because of the abundance of ideas and wanting to play!
I have a triptych that changes orientation...I used BOTH sawtooth hangers and picture wire. You could use one or the other but I was experimenting with the hardware at the time :)

Thanks Martice! I really like the idea of sawtooth hangers.
