I have worked under almost every weather condition on this project but it has been such an honour for me to be selected that it's actually been a pleasure. Tomorrow I'll stop by to see if it needs any final touches and then in a couple of days I'll give the piece a final coat of varnish. I am so grateful to City Hall for encouraging the community's arts and artists and allowing a project like this in the community, to Sign Concepts for preparing the box and for being such a pleasure to work with (thanks Scott!), to the Fultons and everyone at Home Hardware for the materials and for always being such a great supporter of the arts in Airdrie, to the businesses who selected my submission, to everyone who stopped by, honked, waved or emailed encouragement (thank you, too, Linda for your kind words this morning), and finally to my friend Sherry for her vision that this could be a thriving creative community to be a part of and to her commitment to growing that community by supporting its local artists along with Awesome Airdrie for the funding to make it possible. I feel absolutely blessed.

Great work, really appreciate it. Also nice that you thanks all kind of people. Just a small (think really important fact): Awesome Airdrie made it possible.

Veronica: What joy your vision has brought to this city! You are correct...it takes many people to pave the way (like Sherry S-F) but you made it all come alive. Thank you!!! 9/18/2012 09:22:52 am
I can never thank you enough for all your wonderful encouragement.

Beautiful! The layers are amazing. The detail and the color is superb. What a great job. I wish I could've seen you in action on this one. 9/18/2012 09:25:14 am
Thank you so much Anneli! I can't believe how much fun it was to spend a number of days painting out in public - despite the extreme variations in temperature ;) Comments are closed.
